On January 22, 2025, the world celebrated the lunar Chinese New Year. Each year we enter in one of 12 Chinese zodiac signs. 2024 we were in a wood dragon year known for growth, creativity, flexibility, ambitious, and confidence.

In 2025 we entered the lunar New Year of wood snake. It brings with it wisdom, transformation, calmness and creativity. This could be a life changing year for many folks.
According to the Chinese Solar calendar another shift began on February 3rd at 10:27 PM. This day shifted the Classical 5-Element Feng Shui or “Flying Stars Feng Shui”. This feng shui scientific study uses both time and direction in relationship to a structure and the occupants according to their birth chart.
During the spring season many ancient Chinese may:
· Sweep, clean, and decorate their homes before the Solar New Year.
· Open windows and doors for just 9 minutes to let the fresh air flow and release stagnant energy that may have collected.
· This is also a good time to refresh your mattress and bedding, clean the area near your front door, and declutter the bedroom.
The goal is to create optimal flow within the home to enjoy good luck, health, and prosperity all year long.
The Snake year is in the direction of the southeast, 142.5 to 157.5 degrees on the compass. This is not a good year to dig outside or remodel inside in this direction. The opposite direction is northwest specifically 322.5 to 337.5 degrees, which also prefers no digging, demolition, or remodeling of any kind until February 4, 2026.
The Flying Starts Feng Shui puts the element of 2-mother earth in the center of everyone’s homes this year. This earth element is the star of argument, sickness, and fire disasters. This predicts that the most unhappy things will eventually be resolved. Talented female leaders will emerge in this next 20 years, taking over positions held by aging authorities.
